Salam..
Okay... I know, it has been so long since I last write. The last entry was on 19th May and today is 11th of June. Less than a week to a month of no new entry. Great! A lot of things happened (of course) and we are jumping from one milestones to the other.
Milestone 1:
25th May - Ayyash is one month old and we brought him for his 1 month check-up and injection. Alhamdulillah he is all well and now weighted 4.4 kg. We also have his first pasport made that day, as Muhammad plan to bring me and Ayyash over to Singapore after my confinement period. I was wondering how on earth they could make pasport photo for babies? Ayyash was crying throughout his photography session because he was all cranky as we disturbed his sleep. But the photo turned out well, it looks like he was grinning while he was actually wailing. Haha! Good job!
Milestone 2:
3rd June - I am finally at the finishing line of my 40 days confinement period. Bye2 barut, bye2 jamu-jamu, bye2 toast and bye2 biskut Hup Seng. Say hi to cold icy drinks, ice creams and delicious foods..yum2! Hehe.. joking. Not that I will gulp everything in one go now. I guess I'll get back to those slowly just to give more time for my body to heal. Besides, I'm still in my Intensive Diet Programme (IDP) for my quest to get my pre-wedding weight back! So, holding on to my confinement's diet seems like a good idea for the time being.
Also, on that day, my in laws were all coming down to Kuantan for visiting plus having their vacation. They were here for 3 days, staying in Cherating and we joined them there. Yes, WE means me, Muhammad and Ayyash. Of course, I was nervous taking care of this little guy independently without my mum's supervision. But by hook or by crook I have to do it and alhamdulillah we managed just fine :)
Milestone 3:
5th June - For the first time ever, we took Ayyash abroad (if Singapore can be considered abroad?). It was a long journey. 12 hours! We set off at 10 in the morning and arrived at 10. Along the way we dropped by at a relative's house and we have some issues at the border. Anyway, it was very tiring. Ayyash was being such a sweetheart. He was sleeping all the way and woke up just in time for his feedings, with occassional smiles in between to tell his worried mother that he is doing just fine. I'll tell you more of our Singapore stay in other entry.
Milestone 4:
8th June - Ayyash was officially weaned off from his nipple shield yeay! Another milestone for our breastfeeding journey. I never expected it to be this easy and this fast, alhamdulillah! I was thinking that I will be using the shield for the whole 2 years!
We were eating at a restaurant when Ayyash started to cry as it was already his feeding time and I rushed up to our room to get my shields. Then Muhammad suggest me to try breastfeed him without the nipple shield. I was reluctant as I know he was already so hungry. So I prepared a bottle of EBM by my side and clean pair of nipple shields just in case he throws a tantrum. And so I tried to directly feeding him.
He latch on a few times and gag. I said to myself I tried one more time and if it failed again then I will be using the shield. To my suprise he latched on and stayed. I fed him until he fell asleep. What a wonderful feeling. Finally! I am as normal as other breastfeeding mommies! I felt like shouting it to the world! Yeay!
Owh aite... have to pen off now. Ayyash sudah mula merengek. Another reason for my lack of update. Till then
2 kopi panas..:
yuhuuu...lama sudah tidak membaca entri baru kamu...selamat abes berpantang...welcome to a new phase...new priorities...new responsibility...and a new look of mummy (selepas bergelar ibu)...semoga ayyash sekeluarga baik2 sahaja...
Tahniah :)
Enjoy your nursing time and easily travel for breastfeeding. Really happy for you.
